When the high-def revolution forced skate filmmakers to choose between SD and HD, those that went with higher resolutions were tasked with figuring out what camera would be best to replace the beloved VX1000. In just a few short years, Panasonic’s HVX200 and its immediate successors came out on top. But over a decade later, its still the industry standard. I spoke with a handful of prominent skate filmmakers to find out what makes this camera so special.
